Are there any die hard Dallas Cowboy fans left out there? If you just can't admit that you are still watching the Cowboy games, I totally understand; I'm with you there. I have to admit it's getting hard to watch them play and pretty darn depressing to watch them lose. After last night's loss to the New York Giants and the loss of Romo to injury (his broken left clavicle), is there any hope left in the season or is the season over? According to ESPN Romo won't need surgery but will be out 6 to 8 weeks and maybe even the entire season( all I can do is.....sigh...). So I know you're saying: get to the insurance point will you...ok..ok. Well, Romo's injury got me to thinking about disability insurance. There are different forms of disability insurance but the standard definition would be:
Disability Insurance, often called DI or disability income insurance, is a form of insurance that insures the beneficiary's earned income against the risk that disability will make working (and therefore earning) impossible. It includes paid sick leave, short-term disability benefits, and long-term disability benefits.
Here's the question, since statistics show that in the US a disabling accident occurs every second, are you insured for DI. If you or your spouse gets into a severe accident and you become disabled, will you have coverage that replaces your earnings?
